2010-2011 Budget Review Process
For the 2010/2011 school year, committed expenses
will exceed Ministry Funding Allocations. Estimates
are for a shortfall of $ 6 Million Dollars. A budget
reduction of this size will impact all areas of the
District and can best be accomplished through a full
consultation with all affected partners.
We need to know what is important to you."

Catchment Area Review Survey
The Board of Education is responsible for the establishment of school catchment areas for each school in the School District. A District Catchment Area Review Committee has been established to undertake a review and analysis of current school catchment area (school boundaries) to determine if they are still appropriate.
While the geographic area of School District No. 23 is static, many factors within the District are constantly changing.~ The number of students, their geographic distribution and demographic characteristics are all factors within the school system which must be considered in the formation or revision of school catchment areas.
The Board of Education values input from parents, students~and staff.~ The District Catchment Area Review Committee is looking for your input to prioritize the guiding principles by which meaningful and sustainable catchment areas can regulate school identities and populations in a fair and equitable manner.~ This is your opportunity to "have a say" on how school catchment areas should be evaluated. To complete the survey please go to the School District web page at:

Thank you for taking to time to participate.
